Configure Mac Mail

NOTE: “domainname” includes your .com, .net, .org or applicable extension, such as “briworks.com”

  • Open Mac Mail.
  • Click on “Preferences” from the Mail menu in the top toolbar.
  • Click the “Accounts” tab.
  • Within the “Accounts” tab, click on the plus (+) sign in the bottom left corner to create your new account:pop1.png
  • A dialog box will appear, this is where you will enter your general account information:pop2.png
  • Set the”Account Type” to POP3.
  • Enter your name and email address.
  • Click “Continue”.
  • Set the incoming mail server to mail.domainname.
  • Enter your username and password for your email account.
  • Click “Continue”.pop3.png
  • Set the outgoing mail server to mail.domainname.
  • Make sure “Use Authentication” is checked.
  • Enter your email address and password.
  • Click “Continue”.pop4.png
  • When the setup process has completed, you’ll see a window that summarizes your connections.  Click “Done” to finish the setup, make sure that “Take account online” is checked, and click “Create”.pop5.png
