Creating a domain alias

How to create a domain alias in the Linux BRI hosting control panel

 

Step 1: First you will need to log into your BRI hosting control panel by doing the following:

A.) Open up a web browser and navigate to the following URL: https://www.brihosting.com/cp

B.) Once here, enter in your username and password that were sent to you by the “admin@brihosting.com” email address when your hosting package was created and click “Sign In” (the username will be the primary contact email address of the hosting package administrator).

 

Step 2: Once you are logged into you control panel, click on the “System” tab located on the top right corner of the web page (outlined in red in the below screenshot).

Step 3: Now you will need to click on the “Domain Aliases” link located on the left hand column of the web page.

Step 4: On the next page under “Tools”, you will see an icon called “Add Domain Alias”. Click on this icon.

Step 5: On the next page you will need to enter the domain alias under “Preferences”. Enter in the alias name and select which options you would like for your domain alias such as mail, web and Java applications, then click “OK” (Note: You will need to register any domain name that you wish to set as an alias to your domain name. You will also need to set the name servers for the domain alias to the same name servers as the domain for which you are setting an alias.)

Step 6: After you have entered the domain alias name and hit “OK” on the previous page, your domain name alias will have been created. You will now be at the domain name alias settings page. Here you will be able to change your domain alias settings.

Congratulations, you have successfully created a domain alias.
