EXPORTING EXCHANGE MAILBOXES
If you have already configured Microsoft Outlook 2003 to use the mailbox you are exporting, please continue. If not, please visit the Hosted Exchange Setup Guide for a detailed guide on setting up Outlook to use Exchange. This guide is to be used in conjunction with the article Importing Exchange Mailboxes.
***NOTE – This guide should be repeated for each and every mailbox exported. ***
Click on File -> Import and Export.
In here, click on “Export to a file” then click Next.
Select “Person Folder File (.pst)”, and click Next.
In this new window, click “Mailbox – Firstname Lastname”, and check the “Include Subfolders” checkbox. Click Next.
Select a location to save the .pst file by clicking Browse. Also, specify a name for the file by use the naming convention “F.Lastnamebackup”.
Click on Finish.
Once you do this, the mailbox will starting exporting to file. Depending on the size of the mailbox, it could take 5 minutes to an hour.
Once you are done exporting your mailbox, you are ready to import it to your new Exchange account.
