Technical Support Representatives

Blue Ridge InternetWorks has immediate openings for professional and energetic Technical Support Representatives.  As a Technical Support Representative you will be receiving requests from new and existing customers for web and email hosting, virtual private server hosting, and Internet access. 

Responsibilities 

  • Troubleshoot telephone, email, and chat inquiries in the technical support queue;
  • Perform appropriate and timely troubleshooting of technical issues;
  • Tactfully handle confrontational or stressful interactions with the customers;
  • Document and track customer problems, requests, actions and troubleshooting performed through customer relationship management and ticketing;
  • Meet performance standards set by the company for number of calls, emails, and chat;
  • Provide accurate technical solutions in an effort to resolve each issue upon the first call;
  • Work with customers to describe our products and services and assist current customers to renew or purchase products and services;

Required Skills 

  • One full year experience of technical support in a high volume, fast paced environment;
  • Ability to assist customers while sitting at a single workstation for an extended period of time;
  • Experience with web, database, and email servers on Windows and Linux;
  • Knowledge and understanding of domain registration;
  • Experience with installation and troubleshooting of home office and small office Internet connectivity;
  • Ability to manage sensitive and critical customer information;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills;
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record;

Desired Skills 

  • 4 year degree from accredited college/university
  • A+, CCNA, MCP, etc
  • Web Hosting and ISP experience
  • MTU installation/experience
  • Mac experience

This position is located in Charlottesville, VA on the historic Downtown Mall.

IT Consultant

Blue Ridge InternetWorks has immediate openings for professional and energetic IT Consultant. Consultants work in partnership with clients, advising them how to use information technology in order to meet their business objectives, overcome problems, improve the structure and efficiency of an organization’s IT systems.
