Our History

Blue Ridge InternetWorks was founded as Blue Ridge Websoft, LLC in June 2000 by former Musictoday.com CTO Baylor Fooks. Baylor was joined in March 2001 by IT colleague Jeff Cornejo. Jeff had served as Director of IT/Systems Group of Crutchfield Corporation.Under the new partnership, Jeff and Baylor began to concentrate on network consulting and services, thus the company began doing business as Blue Ridge InternetWorks. BRI quickly became the area’s only locally-owned Cisco Premier Certified Partner. In June 2001 BRI launched managed Internet hosting services. Four months later BRI opened its own data center and hosting facility in Charlottesville’s Downtown Business Center.

In mid-2002 BRI became a Microsoft Certified Partner and Authorized Application Service Provider, enabling BRI to offer industry leading Microsoft solutions such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Commerce Server.
